ALPHA Obstacle Training hosts an annual Obstacle Course Race Series at Polson Pier which is located downtown Toronto. The 2016 ALPHA OCR will consist of three events that will take place on May 14th, August 13th, and September 17th.
If you are new to obstacle course racing, it is a great race series to start with. The race is 7 km in length on flat terrain with between 25-35 obstacles.
If you are training for a particular obstacle course race, the ALPHA OCR`s are a great way to train for the race as the course has a wide variety of various obstacles that you will see at various events. These obstacles include: traverse walls, inverted walls, rope climb, warp wall, cargo net, monkey bars, etc.
Each ALPHA OCR event will be timed. Participants will be able to obtain their times and can compare their results from all three events.
There will be open and competitive heats.
Registration will open at 7:00 am in the soccer dome located at 176 Cherry Street.
Bag drop will be available in the soccer dome.
Competitive heat warm up will begin at 9:00 am.
Open heat warm up will begin at 9:30 am.
Food and drinks will be available on site.
ALPHA Obstacle Training is proud to announce that their OCR Series will be an OCR World Championships Qualifier.
The OCR World Championships is the first truly independent global championship for the burgeoning sport of Obstacle Course Racing. It is a singular event created to unify, promote, and increase participation in the sport of OCR while celebrating its amazing athletes and community. The 2016 OCR World Championships will be held October 14-16, 2016, at Blue Mountain in Ontario, Canada
Athletes can qualify to compete in the OCRWC based on his/her performance at specific Qualifying Races.
ALPHA`s OCR Qualifier Information:
• Top 10 elite males/females
• Top male/female in each age group: 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+
If you qualify for the OCR World Championships and would like to register, participants are required to provide proof of results at the time of registration. Entry into the OCRWC is limited issued to qualified athletes on a first come, first served basis. Spots will be limited.
