About
Alpha OT is an organization that empowers communities by inspiring teamwork, goodwill, and personal development for all age groups. By challenging participants to overcome physical obstacles, they realize their potential to overcome adversity and face their mental battles.
Alpha inspires individuals to step out of their comfort zone, find their inner purpose, and conquer their fears.
Our goal is to reach and inspire as many people as we can. In becoming part of the community, our team members feel respected, encouraged, motivated, supported, and comfortable in their surroundings.
Alpha provides these opportunities to individuals through hosting obstacle course races, team building events, training camps, and youth programs.

Jesse Bruce
Co-founder of Alpha Obstacle Training
Jesse Bruce is the Co-Founder / Chief Motivator of Alpha Obstacle Training in Toronto and an Elite Trainer at Myodetox Performance Centre. A lifetime of being the underdog has led Jesse to where he is today. Being extremely underweight and weak, Jesse had no confidence in himself. His low self-esteem led him down a dark path filled with many mental and emotional battles. He struggled in school and turned to drugs and alcohol to numb his pain.
His life changed when he discovered a passion for fitness and the art of mastering obstacle courses. Jesse worked hard, stayed on top of his physical goals and began his journey to a more fulfilling life; he became a 30-time obstacle course winner and a successful business owner.
Jesse wants to help people become a stronger and faster version of themselves, but also gain the confidence needed to face the difficult mental obstacles that life can sometimes throw at us. Currently, he leads group training classes for at-risk youth from the Covenant House Toronto—he believes that training to conquer obstacle courses can change lives.

Megan Sutherland
Chief Operating Officer
Megan Sutherland is the Chief Operating Officer at Alpha Obstacle Training. Megan’s career to date has centrally focused around developing programming that uses sport as a vehicle to bring people together and empower them to reach their full potential.
Megan lived a fairly active life playing a variety of different sports since the age of four. In her university years, she began to get preoccupied with her weight until she became ill with anorexia in her final year of school. She fought a six-year battle with the disorder that was filled with a number of highs and lows. At one point, she had to leave school to enter into a rehabilitation program—this was her first step on the path to a healthy recovery.
Megan found various goals to work towards that kept her health on track. The first was participating in FemSport, a strength and endurance competition in Vancouver. With a bit of healthy competition and a great sense of achievement, Megan began her search for a similar group event she could be a part of. She stumbled upon obstacle course racing and decided to give it a try. This was pivotal in her transformation and journey to a healthier and happier lifestyle.
In her first year competitively obstacle course racing, she won the 2014 OCR World Championships in the 25 to 29 age group.
Megan hopes to use her incredible knowledge and passion for health and fitness to provide unique opportunities for all age groups to get active.
